Out with a whimper, missing the bang

The BBC has declared PNAC and its neo-conservatism officially dead. Please see the following:

[See what happens when the neo-cons lose their religious rightwing base of bodies! amidst scandals and the Dems actually paying attention to Christians this time.]
Now, did I happen to miss the popular uprising that accompanied the rejection of this profoundly evil institution and mindset? Is really a lukewarm turning away from the bushies - in slowly shifting opinion polls about the war on Iraq and a fair margin of victory for a Democratic Party congress - all I can expect from my USAmerican citizenry? Is all the outrage we can muster in the face of violent, racist, capitalist imperialism to say, ‘No, we don’t really like things to be QUITE that bad’?
Should I take heart that we are getting (back?) toward the middle of the road, no longer stuck in the far ‘right?’ Is the ‘middle’ the space where we can most effectively edge toward the needed ‘left?’ I will have to start hoping that. I am concerned that if even the evils of the bushies-made world could not impel the people into realizing the need for real justice and peace, then a Democratic Party-made world where things aren’t too bad or too good, won’t motivate them any more. [And, thus, the imperialist, white supremacist, capitalist patriarchy will continue and Jesus will be sad.]
